Ms. Flanigan regularly advises employers, insurance carriers, third-party administrators and claims adjusters regarding their rights and responsibilities under the Arizona Workers’ Compensation Act. Ms. Flanigan is an experienced litigator with over 21 years of experience. She utilizes that extensive litigation experience to advocate on behalf of her clients in litigated matters before the Industrial Commission, various tribunals and before the appellate courts.
Prior to joining Wright Welker & Pauole, Ms. Flanigan led the Arizona workers’ compensation team for a national firm. She also was in-house counsel for SCF Arizona (now known as Copperpoint Mutual) where she litigated all types of workers’ compensation claims, worked with and advised claims adjusters in claims handling and best practices and consulted with employers in an effort to reduce risks associated with on the job injuries.
Ms. Flanigan has experience in tribal law, representing Native American tribes and related business entities on issues ranging from governance to tribal liability defense. She spent several years litigating high stake complex commercial litigation disputes on issues ranging from professional negligence, insurance coverage, contractual disputes, real estate and lending disputes. Ms. Flanigan also was a criminal prosecutor responsible for prosecuting violent and non-violent felony offenders.
Ms. Flanigan’s current and former clients include school districts, professional sports teams, commercial food service and processing companies, hospitals, security agencies, hotels, resorts, restaurants, retail establishments, construction companies, transportation companies, developers, attorneys, trucking companies and car dealerships.
Ms. Flanigan has handled matters before the Industrial Commission of Arizona, various superior courts throughout the State of Arizona, United States District Court and Arizona appellate courts.
Ms. Flanigan is an Arizona native. She obtained her undergraduate degree in sociology from Arizona State University and JD from Arizona State College of Law (now known as The Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law). As a law student, Ms. Flanigan served as a student writer and managing editor of the Arizona State Law Journal.
Ms. Flanigan is licensed in the State of Arizona, United States District Court, District of Arizona and United States Court of Claims.
