Ms. Bornscheuer was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1985, with a B.S. in Marketing, and with high distinction. Ms. Bornscheuer obtained her J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law in 1995, where she was a member of the law review and had an externship with the Hon. Carol Los Mansmann of the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
In 1996, Ms. Bornscheuer was admitted to the Arizona Bar, the United States District Court, District of Arizona, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Ms. Bornscheuer has practiced in diverse areas of civil litigation including insurance defense, commercial litigation, and school law. A substantial portion of her practice has been devoted to complex construction-related litigation, including the representation of design professionals, contractor, subcontractors and homeowners. Ms. Bornscheuer also has extensive experience defending and advising public entities regarding employment/personnel issues, various types of civil rights issues, and business-related tort and contract claims. Her appellate experience includes a variety of state and federal appeals, administrative reviews and special actions.
